Applications for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Scholarships in Sports Ethics and Integrity (MAiSI) are currently being accepted for the academic year 2024/2025. MAiSI is a prestigious international Master’s program spanning two years, jointly coordinated by six esteemed European universities located in Belgium, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Greece.
Successful applicants will benefit from full coverage of tuition fees along with a monthly stipend of €1,400 for the entire duration of the program, which spans two years. The deadline for submitting applications is April 1, 2024.
DESCRIPTION OF THE MAiSI PROGRAM MAiSI
is a comprehensive two-year full-time Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s program specializing in sports ethics and integrity. The curriculum delves into various critical topics including anti-doping measures, combating discrimination, promoting fair play, global governance of sports, issues related to betting and match-fixing, athlete protection, Youth Olympic Games, Olympism, and Paralympism.
The MAiSI master’s degree equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge for pursuing impactful careers in sports administration and governance, placing a strong emphasis on ethical conduct, integrity, and compliance within the sports industry.
STRUCTURE OF THE MAiSI PROGRAM The program is structured over a span of two years. During the initial semester of the first year, students will be based at KU Leuven in Belgium. Following this, they will spend the subsequent semester at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, with classes conducted by faculty from Swansea University in the United Kingdom, who will also deliver classes in Leuven and Prague.
The first semester of the second year will be hosted at either Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, or Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. The final semester will involve placement at one of the partner universities within the consortium, contingent upon the specialization chosen for the students’ thesis.
MAiSI also encompasses a five-week study period at the University of the Peloponnese in Greece, dedicated to research methodologies and Olympic studies.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be conferred with a joint degree from all six participating universities, bearing the title “Master in Sports Ethics and Integrity (MA)”.
