The DAAD Leadership for Africa Scholarship Programme 2025 targets two distinct groups of applicants:

1) Highly qualified refugees:

• Hold refugee status and were granted before April 2nd, 2023.
• Reside in one of the designated host countries: Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, or Uganda.
• Possess a completed Bachelor’s degree at the time of application, demonstrating eligibility for Master’s studies in Germany.

2) Highly qualified graduates from designated African countries:

• Hold citizenship in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, or Uganda.
• Reside in one of the specified countries: Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, or Uganda.
• Have completed a Bachelor’s degree by the time of application, meeting the necessary qualifications for Master’s studies in Germany.

Required Documents:

• Completed online DAAD application form.
• Concise curriculum vitae (max. 3 pages).
• Letter of Motivation (1-3 pages).
• DAAD Form “Study course profile” (specify 3 Master’s programmes).
• Proof of necessary language skills.
