TO LAUNCH THE COMPETITIVE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION INTO THE FIRST YEAR OF THE ENGINEERING TRAINING PROGRAMME AT
THE NATIONAL ADVANCED SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING OF YAOUNDE (NASEY), AND TO SPECIFY THE NUMBER OF PLACES
AVAILABLE FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR.

Mindful of Decree N” 2020/275 of 11 May 2020 to change the name and reorganize the National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaounde;
Mindful of Order N” 18240028/MINESUP/SG/DAUQ/SDEAC of 14 February 2024 to organize the calendar of competitive entrance examinations
into Faculties, Schools and Institutions of Cameroon State Universities for 2024-2025 academic year.
HEREBY ANNOUNCES:
Article 1: (1) A competitive entrance examination for the admission of three hundred (300) students into the first year of the engineering training programme at the National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaounde (NASEY), has been launched for the 2024/2025 academic year in the following centres: Bafoussam, Bamenda, Bertoua, Buea, Douala, Ebolowa, Garoua, Maroua, Ngaoundere and Yaounde.
(2) The exam shall be composed of two (02) written papers in Mathematics and two (02) written papers in Physics, each lasting for three (03) hours and of equal rating.
Article 2: The competitive entrance examination is open to: Final year students in series of Baccalaureate C, D, E, Tl and F, as well as those preparing for the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE-A/L) in Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and who passed in at least four subjects (Religious Knowledge excluded) at the GCE-O/L in one sitting;
Holders of the Baccalaureate in the series mentioned above or at least two of the GCE-A/L papers mentioned above, obtained in one sitting, or any other equivalent certificates recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education.
Article 3:(1) The syllabus is that of Première and Terminale series mentioned above for candidates of the Francophone Sub-system, or of GCE-A/L Lower and Upper Sixth science for candidates of the Anglophone Sub-system.
(2) There will be no oral examination.
Article 4: If successful in the competitive entrance examination, candidates awaiting the results of the abovementioned certificate examinations shall be admitted into the NASEY only on presentation of an Attestation of success or the original results slip of the certificate obtained in 2024, within the deadline set by the NASEY.
Article 5: Registration for the entrance examination is done online on the NASEY website: http://www.polytechnique.cm/concours.
The application file shall include the following documents:
- An individual record form duly filled by the candidate on the entrance examination page of the School’s website: http://www.polytechnique.cm/concours;
- A photocopy of the National Identity Card or its receipt, or the school identity card;
- A certified true copy of the birth certificate (not more than three months old);
- A certified true copy of the Baccalaureate or GCE-A/L in two subjects (Religious Knowledge excluded) or equivalent certificate recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education or an Attestation of success of any of the above;
- Transcripts of the Probatoir e and Baccalaureate or Form five (GCE-O/L class) and Upper Sixth (GCE-A/L class) whichever is applicable;
- 4 passport size photos (4 x 4);
- A medical attestation of physical fitness delivered by a State registered medical doctor;
- A self-addressed A4-size stamped (1500 francs CFA) envelope.
Article 6: The examination fee of twenty thousand (20 000) francs CFA shall be payable only through EXPRESS UNION with a receipt delivered in exchange. The receipt shall be attached to the candidate’s application file. The examination fee which is non-refundable shall be used in covering expenses related to the organization of the examinations. Any other means of payment shall not be accepted.
Article 7: The complete application file shall reach either the Admissions Office of The National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaounde, P.O. 8390 Yaounde, or the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Secondary Education of the candidate’s place of residence latest the 10 of July 2024.
Article 8: Only candidates who have submitted complete application files within the deadline will be called upon to write the exams. They are therefore requested to corne along with their National ldentity Cards or their school identity cards which must be presented to the examination authorities.
Article 9: Candidates for the entrance examination into the first year must not be above 29 years of age by the 1° of January 2024.
Article 10: (1) The written examinations will be held on the 18 and 19 of July 2024, in the centres indicated above.
(2) Candidates registered for the examinations with a complete file and having at least a score of “Very Good” in the Baccalaureate C and E in the 2024 session or five (OS) papers with grade “A” at the GCE-A/L obtained only in the 2024 session, or the score “Excellent” in the Baccalaureate D, Tl and Fin the 2024 session, can benefit from a direct admission.
(3) At the end of the deliberations of the jury setup by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, a list of candidates proposed for final admission in order of merit, which will be published by the Minister of State,
Minister of Higher Education shall be drawn up.
Article 11: The Rector of the University of Yaounde 1, the Director of the Department of University Accreditations and Quality, and the Director of the National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaounde, each in his own sphere, are responsible for the implementation of this Press Release which shall be registered and published in English and French, wherever necessary.
