The Minister,
Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, hereby informs the
public that the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya, has just
ordered a special recruitment of two thousand (2,000) PhD/Doctorat
holders as lecturers in Cameroon’s State universities. This recruitment,
which is open to graduates resident in Cameroon and abroad, will be
conducted over a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 2019
financial year.

One thousand
(1,000) lectures will be recruited in 2019, five hundred (500) in 2020
and five hundred (500) in 2021. The decision by the Head of State seeks
to provide a concrete solution to the pressing need for teaching staff
in State universities, especially following the creation in recent years
of several new institutions.

It is guided by his
abiding concern for the growth of higher education, and falls in line
with his resolve to keep his promises to the Cameroonian youth at home
and abroad. Specific directives have been issued to the Prime Minister,
Head of Government, and the Minister of Higher Education on the
principles, terms and conditions governing the implementation of this
